Euro Trash (Part 1)

On our way back from tea Brennan and I walked down this alley to get home (rather than walking around the building like we usually do). I had never been down this alley before and was pleasantly surprised with what we stumbled upon!

P.S. Happy Birthday Emily!!!

Happy Accident

The other day Brennan and I were killing some time outside our apartment waiting for the internet guy to set up our internet/phone line and Brennan went and picked a flower from our neighbor's potted plant (sorry Peig!). I couldn't help but run and grab my camera when I saw how perfectly her red flower matched her red shoes! I didn't even want to take the time to put on the lens I would have liked to have used as this was so impromptu and I didn't want to miss the moment! I was so pleased with how some of them came out so of course I'm sharing. :) So, without further ado, here is my/our "happy accident."

Same Lollipop, Different Door(s)

On our way back from the castle we stopped at a cathedral that is supposedly something to see! Even though it said it was open 7 days a week, when we got there it was closed -boo. So, we walked around the grounds and enjoyed the pretty afternoon before heading home. Here are the remnants of B's sucker.

it felt like the first day of kindergarten all over again

I'm officially back in school! That's right, after 8 years of being all done with school (and believe you me when I graduated from APU I was indeed all done), I'm officially enrolled at Limerick Sr. College! Tonight was my first class of Intro to Photoshop and so far so good. I walked to school (about 15 min away), got there about 5 min early, walked in just as the prof walked in, he looked at me and said "photoshop?" I said "yes" and sat where he somewhat directed me to sit. It was a pretty good class! There was that instant looking around the room to see if anyone would be my friend and give me a friendly nod, they didn't. I of course waited a few minutes before making some small talk with the gal next to me which is always a little awkward in the beginning. All in all it was good, I learned something, liked my prof, and the class is pretty small which makes me feel more comfortable.
Around 9pm the professor started to end the class and I looked at the girl next to me and said "oh, it doesn't go until 9:30pm?" She said "I thought it did too." I then quietly said to the professor "So we meet from 7-9pm every Monday?" He all of a sudden says "Oh!! Come back, come back! Everyone come back!" He goes onto explain how he got our class confused with his other class and how we did in fact meet until 9:30pm. The whole class proceeds to look at me with dirty looks and say "oh, thanks a lot!" Then the professor goes on to make jokes about how I'm a smarty pants who knows it all, I WANTED TO DIE!! I explained that I was new and was just checking as I wasn't sure!! For the rest of the class little jokes were directed at me, the girl who "knows it all"...ay yi yi, I wanted to crawl under a rock.
At one point the prof asked the girl next to me a question, then comes and asks me a question, he then says to me, "now explain to the girl next to you why you are right and she's wrong." DOH!!! Again, I wanted to die. It was indeed a typical first day, some embarrassment, some awkwardness, and some good old fashioned humility. Ahh, the joys of "continuing adult education." I plan on going back next week, hopefully there won't be any stories to share.

Oh, and this is what is directly across the street from my school:

(Thanks Tom for picking me up so I didn't have to walk home!)

P.S. Happy Birthday Jodi!!

King John's Castle

Here is our afternoon at our first (of many I hope!) Irish castle. It was so fun to walk around and have another view of Limerick from the top of the castle. Fun day.
